Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Great looking slide in range

Submitted by LarsieB - I love the look of this slide in stove in trying to modernize the look of our current kitchen. The cook top and oven cooks beautifully. The baking drawer I am yet to use as it was not working when we purchased the oven and it has only been repaired now.....nothing major just an ill functioning fuse, but now it looks ready to go. The surface of the stove is a little tricky to clean but I think this could be said with all stove glass tops. But I am so far thoroughly impressed with this oven, all my baking is turning out great and our Christmas lunch cooked in the oven was just excellent.

Very pleased with the Jenn Air Range

Submitted by Cindy H - It's a very nice range! The big glass window on the oven door is very nice as well as the wattage on the burners. I really like the warming burner and its location. Trying to clean the black splash is a problem for me. I'm 5'2" so I'm constantly touching the control pad which beeps often. Thank goodness for the start button for my oven or it would be heating up often! The range was installed about three months ago and have enjoyed it so far!

Great looking electric range

Submitted by Linda S - I like the different size burners that give me so many options. The timer is difficult to use because the buttons are close together, and I've pushed the wrong button several times while trying to use the timer. The buttons/pads are very sensitive. The oven seems to take a long time to preheat. I like the convection features.

Good range

Submitted by Jon - Happy with the performance of this range. Much better than the cheaper (not Jennair) range we had before this one.) Only complaint is that the controls are turned off and on when wiping/cleaning the surface. Need to be able to turn off the controls while cleaning.

One burner broken upon arrival

Submitted by Susan - It really stinks for everyone when an item is not working upon arrival. I called and they sent someone to fix it. That means I had to reserve a 5 hour window for someone to come and tell me it didn't work and they would need to come backwithn the parts to fix it. They want to take the entire thing apart (in my brand new kitchen) and put in a new wiring harness. Hmmm......I don't want a brand new stove that already needs to be repaired. I don't want to wait home 3 seperate days to get one oven installed and working (hopefully). Can't they test the burners before they ship the item? This seems like maybe something you need to do if you are shipping out broken items.

New Purchase

Submitted by Becky - I bought a Jenn-Air when i built my house 20 years ago and new that when it had seen it final days that I would buy another Jenn-Air. I purchase this range. I had only used the oven 3 times and it had failed to not perform and the cooling fan did not work. I called customer service and whom ever I spoke to was so wonderful in helping me get a new replacement. I have used the replacement and everytime i cook in it, the cooking is even all over in oven. I do not regret my decision of going back with a Jenn-Air. Thanks for the great support team Jenn-Air has.

Good looking and functional

Submitted by Eris - I originally ordered/wanted an induction cook top and was very disappointed to not get one. That being said, this cook top is as good as any electric cooktop I've owned. Lots of options for heating. An oval element for grills or large oval cookware would be nice. The oven is awesome, quick to heat and even cooking. The controls are a bit too easy to activate/ change by just grazing the control panel. The cooktop is a bit of a pain to keep really clean. The cooktop elements work evenly and efficiently. I still would prefer the induction cooktop, but would recommend this to someone looking for electric.

The jury is still deliberating

Submitted by Andrea - I bought this range--and spent a lot more than I was planning to--because it had a couple of design features that I wanted and was not willing to give up. Mostly, I wanted to get rid of the rear back-splash control panel and I wanted the burners spread out enough that I could get two frying pans and a soup pot on the cooktop at the same time. There weren't many models to choose from. I chose by features and looks not by brand name. I've been cooking on this range for two weeks now, having for the past two years been cooking on a gas range that I hated and prior to that on a double-oven glasstop that I loved. So far, my emotions are mixed. Pots are much slower to heat than on my last two ranges and this will take some getting used to. Same goes for the getting used to baking and broiling in a full-sized oven after 10 years of cooking with a double-oven (one electric, one gas)--loved having the small oven on the top as it was perfect for broiling and cooking meals for two--and really saved my back. The electronic control panel can be over-sensitive and I am constantly switching off the broiler when I'm actually just trying to set the timer. The knobs for the burners are tight--good if you have children and bad if you have arthritis. The knobs aren't as difficult to clean as I expected but they do get awfully dirty with all the pan-frying I do. I like not having to reach over the burners to adjust them but having the knobs at the front of the stove pushes the pots further back on the cooking surface -- an issue perhaps if you are short like me. The control panel gets rather warm when you are using the oven and the broiler--warmer than I am accustomed to. Side insulation could be better so you need to be careful what you store in the cabinets on either side of the unit. I haven't done much baking/roasting yet so I can't comment yet. I'll probably never use the convection. I do a lot of broiling and once again it is a learning process. Ranges don't come with broiler pans or the utility knife for cleaning the cook-top anymore. Frankly, at this price, they should both be included. My biggest beef was delivery from the manufacturer. I actually refused delivery. The front control panel had not been installed correctly and was gapping; it would not have sat flush to the counter and it would have allowed liquids to seep under the control panel. The unit should not have left the factory--certainly not as the first quality merchandise I was paying for. Fortunately, my dealer stood behind me but it was a week before they could deliver another unit because they had to wait for a new unit to be delivered from the manufacturer. When I ordered the stove back in August, I ordered a second set of oven racks; they should have been received in time to be delivered with the range but they have been back-ordered and I am still waiting for them. I haven't tried the Aqua-lift business for cleaning the oven but I already expect that it will not be as good or as easy as the high temp cleaning method I have been using for the past 30 years. The idea of having to remove all of the water from the bottom of the oven after the cleaning cycle sounds like a lot more labor than the 'run the clean cycle and wipe it down when it cools' method I'm accustomed to. The price we have to pay for energy star ratings. I'm also thinking that this water vapor cleaning system is going to need a good range hood that is vented to the outside. Bottom-line: It will serve my purposes and I will eventually get used to it but so far I'm thinking that some of the new technology isn't necessarily better technology.

problems with new Jenn-Air electric range

Submitted by Kari - The bottom draw oven in our new range quit working in about one month. The range design makes it difficult for someone to repair. The drawer is difficult to take apart. The repair technician found the sensor wire had been pinched during manufacturing which most likely caused the fuse to fail. In order to replace the sensor he had to take the porcelain lined drawer out. To do this, he had to flex the drawer over the metal connectors, which caused the porcelain to crack and break off in many places. What a poor design. He will be back next week to replace the porcelain piece. This will be his third trip to our house to get the oven drawer back working. I hope we do not have any more problems with this range.

Jenn-Air Electric Range Review

Submitted by Karen - Purchased earlier in the year. Beautiful and efficient. Matches other appliances perfectly especially the sleek handles. Only drawback is it is somewhat hard to keep clean. However we have now found the right cleaning products/scrubbers and a microfiber cloth that will keep it looking it's best. Would Recommend. Even heating as well.

New Range

Submitted by Sue - You need to be very careful when you push the range in against the wall. There should be insulation between the back of the range and the panel inside, to prevent the cord pushing on it and shorting it out. It needed to be replaced before I have even used it once. Since then it has been fine.

Inferior product!

Submitted by Karen Morena - Got this unit 2 months ago and am VERY UNHAPPY with it. The cooktop is very difficult to clean ~ I clean it after every use. Even water spots bake on. The cooktop surface is an inferior product and shoud not be sold until this problem is remedied. Cloudy spots have formed under the surface and cannot possibly be removed with cleaning. I would like my money back! Also had to have service for a burnt out burner switch ~ after 2 weeks of use. Do people cook on these ceramic tops or are they made just for show?

Amazing Oven!

Submitted by Aaron - I purchased this oven a month ago and it is by far the best one I have ever used. Everything comes out perfect and evenly cooked! The size is spacious, great for cooking large meals for gatherings. The cook-top heats amazingly fast. Two features I overlooked when ordering were the bottom oven, perfect for casseroles\rolls and the soft close doors.

Great Choice!!

Submitted by Pat W - After looking and looking and looking for a range that would fit our spot (slide-in), we found the Jenn-Air. Although it was a little more $$ than we wanted to pay, I'm glad we did. I love this range; it does a great job. Also, I had a GE Profile before and the top was always hard to keep clean. I have noticed the Jenn-Air is much easier to keep clean. Also, it's hard to find a range with enough light inside to see what you are cooking. Jenn-air has plenty of light. Cooking is even . . . I am very pleased. Would recommend this. Also, the convection fan is very quiet, quiet, quiet!!!
