Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Love my Jenn-Air!

Submitted by Leland Faulkner - I remodeled my kitchen and this was a beautiful choice. Lots of commercial qualities and the fact that it is a dual system simply rocks. My old Jenn-Air lasted forty....that's right, forty...years. It had all the cartridges and such, but it finally gave up the ghost. I don't miss the cartridges, and having to store them. The quality of this is close to industrial, and I'm sure we'll have it for another forty years.

Submitted by Susan English - I love the new stove. The burners heat up quickly. The oven take a bit of time to heat up but cooks evenly.

dual fuel downdraft range

Submitted by Reva Betts - Poor placed controls, can not use without getting grease on them. Hard to clean wants to turn on when doing.

Love my jenn air

Submitted by Heather - Love my downdraft oven. It bakes wonderfully and I love the larger space inside the oven.

Great range

Submitted by Maureen - Love the downdraft option and the dual fuel- baking in an electric oven is so much better than gas, and I still have the power and efficiency of gas on the stovetop. Cleaning it is a 1/2 hr job, though- wish Jennair had a video on how to clean it efficiently and how to polish stainless steel.

Serious Oven

Submitted by Adam Boucher - This is a serious oven and its pretty much the showcase of our kitchen now. Absolutely top quality. When you turn on the oven to 400 degrees the outside oven door is cool to the touch, great when you have a little toddler who puts her hands on everything. I wouldn't be surprised if this oven lasts 30 years or more.

Don't Buy

Submitted by Candace - For a well-known product, the down-draft is not acceptable. We had a repairman come out to check it and was told it was set up properly, but it continues moving (alot of) greasy air moving to the ceiling whenever we grill meat.

No, I do not recommend this product

Product good but installation poor.

Submitted by Morning Cook - Nice stove. I like gas burners (had electric) and convection oven. Not sure that venting was done properly. Countertop cut unevenly and holes left in the floor. Complained and work still not properly done.

Dual Fuel Downdraft

Submitted by Winslow Ayer - This is a nice product especially replacing our old one. The downdraft works well in an island. It is a little hard to reach the back burners and it would be nice to have the display and knobs in a more vertical position but all in all I would have to say it is a great product.

Love, Love, Love My New Range!

Submitted by Blessigs Innkeeper Gwenn - I'm thrilled with my new range! (I used my "old" Jenn-Air range all the time, too.) As an innkeeper, I use it several times daily for meal prep and baking. More space. Great rack set up. Roll-out rack. I love the heat control I have and often use the proof and warm functions and the griddle (add-on) on this one. We don't have space for a range hood since my kitchen in our vintage mansion has a long wall of windows, so we must have the downdraft feature. One model - here it is. One price. High. I do wish there were occasional sales/ discounts. Also, since we replaced an older version, I didn't pay close attention to dimensions and this unit is deeper and sticks out past our existing cabinets. Those are the only drawbacks I've identified.

Second one!

Submitted by Alice - This is the second Jenn Air down draft I have owned. I was disappointed that this model does not have the following features that were on my previous model: 1) temperature probe, 2) rapid pre-heat feature, 3) convect roast feature and the double timer. The oven takes about 20 minutes to preheat. We did experience a problem with the installation. The installation manual shows the range is 30" wide, but it is narrower on the top of the range, which created a gap between the granite countertops and the stove. They sell a filler kit but it only goes to the control panel which still leaves a gap between the control panel and the front of them countertop. We paid a local company to build us a stainless steel filler that runs from the back to the front of countertop. I haven't inquired with Jennair to see if they will cover this expense. The new features I like include the larger oven, better oven racks, larger burners, design of the downdraft and the grates. Thedownfraft has an auto shut off feature and the grate design keeps the downdraft from effecting the flames. The display is significantly improved also. The self-cleaning function is much improved. This range seems to be better range than my first one.

My second jenn-air

Submitted by Joni suemnicht - I bought a jenn-air 20 years ago when we built our home. Loved it until it literally died. Wanted the same quality. Got the second one. Love it. I cook daily. We are a family that seldom eats out and when I have the extended family over three to four times a year I cook for 40 -70 depending on who can make it.

Downdraft is limited

Submitted by Craig S - nice looking, nice big oven, but exhaust leaves much to be desired. only captures smoke/steam close to the vent, the other 50+% escapes into the kitchen and house. so using the grill, really only can cook on 25% of the left side of the grill.....kinda disappointing for the whole house to smell like steak or bacon or whatever.

So far, so good!

Submitted by Baseball Mom - We bought this to replace an old Jenn Air down draft range. The burners are so much hotter than my previous range so I am able to boil water a lot faster than below. We have had the range for 2 weeks now, and really like it.

Nice range.

Submitted by NateD - Nice range. I especially like the downdraft venting. It replaces a Jenn Air downdraft range that I had for 30 years. So, when the old one failed, I purchased another one.

Excellent Choice

Submitted by Joy - Wonderful range. We recently remodeled our kitchen and with our growing family this appliance has been wonderful for preparing meals. Cooks fast and even with easy clean up! Makes our entire family happy!

Submitted by therese - We use our product multiple times a day. Positioning of controls is a vast improvement over earlier models.

Second range

Submitted by Donna - I like the stove top very much there is room for large pans, easy to clean, large oven with one slide out shelf, I am disappointed that a gas on gas was no longer available. The touch pad on top is in an awkward position because you can accidentally turn on something on or off unless it is locked.

Jenna Air Downdraft Range

Submitted by 9-Iron - Several members in my family cook, so this Range will get great use. As I stated, this was a replacement, an upgrade to my previous downdraft range. My Range was delivered & installed while I was traveling, so upon my return home, I saw the spacing on each side. So my kitchen looked off for a couple weeks as a result. I had to purchase the Filler kit to close the gaps on sides of Range ($109). This shuld have been an option offered/ included with the range @ install. This was exhausting and disappointing.

Here's to another 30 years!!

Submitted by Barb and Larry - In 1987 when my husband built our home, he chose all of the very best materials and an electric Jenn Air downdraft range was top priority then. We have enjoyed using that same Jenn Air downdraft, slide in range for 30 years without any repairs or problems! It was no surprise then when renovating the kitchen that we chose another Jenn Air downdraft range to complete our favorite place in our home! We are so excited to create wonderful meals for the next 30 years on our duel fuel Jenn Air downdraft range!

Submitted by Yamamoto Tatsuhiko - This had a vent which can keep clean, so wife can enjoy any kind of cooking.

They've done a lot in 20 years!

Submitted by Shish - I do not like the delay bake. My old one, I said when I wanted it to be done, and it would decide when to start. This one I have to look at the time, decide how long to delay start to get my end time - much more thinking and room for error! Also, I am short, and I wish the "everyday" medium burner was in front, and the heavy duty fast boil burner was in back. I'm also not overly fond of the timer - it only beeps once, then quite a wait till it beeps again. I'd like a more instant alarm. The proofing for the bread is cool. It still seems to preheat slowly. Overall, however, it is a great improvement over my 20 year old JennAir

I LOVE this range!

Submitted by Kansas Cook - We moved and I did not want an electric cook top. Because of the design of the kitchen I had to utilize a downdraft system and I wanted gas burners. I went with a range because I wanted the oven space in addition to a wall oven. I LOVE this range. The downdraft is excellent, the oven is large with easy sliding racks. The burners work well and the range is easy to clean.

Jenn-air downdraft replacement

Submitted by Ron Price - Install more difficult than necessary, given it was a replacement for 99 Jen-air downdraft - wider and exhaust hole in floor had to be moved Higher output burners a definite improvement over previous. Would be nice to be able to decide where to place the different capacity burners.

Upgrade to New Jenn-Air Model

Submitted by Scott Waninger - I purchased a dual fuel downdraft JennAir 21 years ago when I built my house, Model SVD48600B. I can't say enough about the durability and quality of that range, very well designed and built. That range had performed very well over the years and was still in very good working order, but showed signs of a lot of use. I was re-doing the kitchen and decided to upgrade and purchase the new version of the same model we had, since everything else was going to be new. The new model, JDS1750EB 30" Dual-Fuel Downdraft Range, is fantastic. It has several upgrades and enhancements that make it everything I would want in a Range. There was only one negative to the whole upgrade, the new version has a completely different locations for the downdraft fan and ductwork, the gas line and where the electrical plug must be located. It also requires a higher amperage circuit to power it, which means new wiring, breaker, etc. It was quite a job to complete all the changes, and in my particular case, it included moving the ductwork and since I had a floor joist exactly where it needed to be, that was a job in itself. But all in all, we got everything changed that needed to be and I am very happy that I purchased the new model and upgraded. I would highly recommended this model, but just be aware if you are upgrading from an older model, you may have quite a bit of modifications to do.

perfection

Submitted by perribear - My new range has the best of both worlds. The gas cooktop has great versatility in both size and heat of the burners. The grids cover the entire top so I can move heavy pans without lifting them. The range is very attractive. Having a downdraft is great. I like the spacious oven. The control panel lets me know when the oven has come to the right temperature. Jenn Air quality throughout.

Love my Jenn-Air Duel- Fuel Downdraft Range!!!!!

Submitted by Susan Allen - I am very pleased with the product - it has met all my expectations. I am thrilled with the proof option on the range since that speeds up my bread baking on the weekends. My son is a chef and he is very impressed with my new oven. We purchased this range to replace a Jenn-Air range that was in the home when we bought it 10 years ago. We never considered buying any other model for a replacement. It had to be a Jenn-Air.

not self cleaning

Submitted by Maria Batista - Don't be fooled this is not a self cleaning oven the aqua lift does nothing. I have been scrubbing the walls back and ceiling of my new oven for days and can't use oven cleaners or steel wool. Yikes, whats to be done.

No, I do not recommend this product

easy to clean

Submitted by Jeannie - I replaced another Jenn Air downdraft range. I like the cooktop better. The oven heats a litter slower but not much. Overall, I think this is a better range. It is much easier to clean and cooks food better.

Yes, I recommend this product

This is not self cleaning

Submitted by Maria Battista - love the stove but the aqua clean is not good. My old Jenn Aire would burn off all the grease and all that I had to do was wipe out the ash. This new water system does not get the grease off the sides of the oven or the top of the oven. I had to run it twice and then spent an hour with steel wool scrubbing the back and sides, forget the top, I couldn't reach it. This is not an improvement from the old way. Then there is the two cups of water at the bottom of the oven to sop up. Who thought of this change it is not an improvement. I loved my old self cleaning Jenn Aire

I love this range!

Submitted by Deborah Payne - I love my new range! We upgraded to gas and this one was perfect for our island! Easy to clean and to use, it works beautifully. The only downside is I wish they had put one of the high powered burners on the back instead of both on the front. Otherwise it is perfect! The convection oven works like a dream! Best kitchen remodel ever!

Dual Fuel Down Draft

Submitted by Rick McElroy - I like the large surface area and large oven however the installation into a EXISTING cutout for an older model downdraft was difficult, I understand design change but you should offer a conversion kit to get a home owner from old design to new.

A great addition to our kitchen

ERROR, IMPROPER ARGUMENTS, ARGUMENTS MUST BE OF THE FORM NAME="VALUE", command = if_string test="Cooking "fools"" Griddle for "grandma pancakes"; one skillet carbonara; beer-butt chicken; and many more dishes to come including eggs & bacon, frittatas, soufflés, crepes for specialty rollups, and more. A stairway of "step-up" from our 16 year old Jennair--and it looks professional.

Replacement for down draft vented stove.

Submitted by Peg - This is the only down draft electric stove and gas top available to replace my Thermador stove. The down draft fan is wonderful. The gas stove top great . Do not like the Aqua lift self cleaning. It is more time consuming and difficult to clean.

I am not disappointed.

Submitted by Georgia Valero - This is my 3rd Jenn Air. I obviously like the product, but the design is different and I am having trouble adjusting. The burner knobs now turn in a different direction. The clock is mounted so I can't see it unless I am standing right over the stove. If I wipe off the display the time changes easily. There is only one buzz when the time is up. There used to be a 60 second warning and then the timer would sound several times.

Love my new Jenn-Air

Submitted by Montana Lisa - I love the sleek look to this new Jenn-Air range. It heats up quickly and has a large surface area. I have only used the oven once but seems to be concise. The fan seems loud on high but I won't have it on high that long, so it does not really bother me. This is the first stainless steel appliance I have had and I do not like the way it smudges, smears and fingerprints, thus the reason for the 4-star. I have not yet tried to use the Affresh product that is suggested and I am hopeful that takes care of the problem. Overall, I am happy.

Disappointed initially

Submitted by Mom24kids - Love everything about the range however after installation received a keypad error code. It took two weeks for the part to be delivered from the factory. Hoping that doesn't happen again. Would recommend with reservations. Another issue was with installation. I was replacing a slide in Jenn Air and the previous top went over my granite counter tops. This one now fits between the top leaving a gap that I ordered a trim kit to cover. All of the trim kits are on backorder. I had to hire a stone cutter to alter the opening so this range would fit. It's been quite a summer !!!

Nice range

Submitted by Sandi and family - This is my first experience with a gas stove and I'm really happy with it so far. It is a bit harder to clean up than my flat-top electric was, but I guess I'll learn not to be as messy! I am disapointed in how long it takes the oven to heat up. We ordered a backsplash, but the installer and the instructions indicated that it needed to be mounted on the wall rather than on the back of the range itself. Still not sure exactly what we're going to do with it, but that configuration just doesn't make sense.

The older model was much better

Submitted by Jen - We replaced 2 older model Jenn-Air ranges with these and have been very disappointed with our purchase. I have a young child and the door gets very hot while cooking (unlike the previous model). The ovens sound like a fan is running while they cool down and it takes a long time for them to reach baking temperature.

No, I do not recommend this product

Very nice unit.

Submitted by Steven O'Connor - We have had a Jenn Aire all electric for 30 years, this is a replacement dual fuel, so we are still learning the technique. It does seem to me that the oven preheats slowly, compared to our old model. Generally a great design.

Jenn-Air range review

Submitted by Sue Kirschenmann - I'm between a casual cook and avid cook. I do like the downdraft vent. It cooks faster than an electric, so I'm getting used to that and do like that fact. I did notice that when I made cookies, that the back cookies got browner than the rest. All in all, I'm very happy that I got a new gas Jenn-Air.

Replacing and older Jenn-Air

Submitted by Judy - A rural customer - We installed our first Jenn-Air in our rural home 30 years ago. It served us well through Thanksgiving feasts, New Years parties and 4th of July BBQ's, not to mention all of our everyday use. When at last it needed to be replaced we had no hesitation about purchasing another Jenn-Air. We are enjoying the updated features, and especially the dual fuel option. So many brands and products have deteriorated in quality over the years...we are happy to see Jenn-Air is still producing high quality products.

Pacheco Family Review

Submitted by Ralph & Kathy Pacheco - We are very happy with our new JA Dual Fuel range. It is a very nice piece of equipment, the self cleaning feature is very nice as well as the capacity. We do have one request, is there a set of adjustable feet that has longer thread rod? Our counter height is a few inches high which led to a problem with installation. We were not able to get the stainless trim pieces in for transition to the countertops. Any ideas? Are there parts we can purchase to fix this problem? Thanks.

Stainless Trim molding

Submitted by Otey Dudley - When the stove was installed the installer said I should get the stainless trim kit to cover opening between stove and cabinet. This was not mentioned when I purchased the stove from Ferguson Enterprises. I ordered the trim by part number in the owner manual. What I received is not correct for this stove. I have contacted customer service and they are trying to determine what has caused the problem. The installer and I both think the kit shipped (correct part #) is maybe for another design. The back trim piece is 1/2" shorter than required and the side trim has a funky notch that matches nothing on the stove. This has not been resolved as of today.

The Only Downdraft available

Submitted by Chip - We purchased and installed this range a month ago. It is the ONLY downdraft available. The Kitchen Aide clone has poorly placed controls. The downdraft performs well, but you need to go from the supplied 5" inch piping to 6" as soon as possible. Installation is not for amateurs. Does not come with a broiler pan which is odd for a "high-end" range. Oven and particularly convection work very well. Performance on LP gas is adequate.

Happy with Stove, unhappy with trim

Submitted by Rick - Just replaced our Jenn-Air electric stove with your dual-fuel range. Happy with the gas burners and the stove in general. Not happy with your trim package. Even with the trim package, still easy to get food crums caught under the trim. Put clear silicon around trim and that has helped. Also, with bigger footprint than old range and your trim package not covering all of old footprint, still have space between range and counter for food to fall through the cracks. Also, disappointed that only option available with down draft is stainless steel. We previously had a stove with white finish and would have preferred to keep the same. Now have a kitchen with your stainless steel finish and refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwaves with white finish.

Look Elsewhere if you Like to Cook

Submitted by JC - This was installed in November and the computer panels died 30 days later. It took several weeks to get it repaired as JennAir sent the wrong parts the first time. Thanks to the local service company they got it working 3 days before Christmas. This product must have been designed by a very tall person who does not cook. The burner one uses the most is in the back so you can't see into the pot, you cannot put more than 2 large pots on the stove at the same time as the surface is not large enough to handle them, and to re-set the timer (which has a very low short one-tone beep when it's done) takes an excruciating multi-step process that is not explained in the owner's manual and that took 2 technicians 45 minutes to figure out. This overly expensive product did not come with a trim package which had to be ordered separately for $80!! Again, this product came from the JennAir warehouse and had to be ordered twice as the first package contained only 2 of the 3 required pieces. There is a very cheap filter and the little wire "handle" pulled out of it when I tried to get the filter out to clean it. Unfortunately, this is NOT covered by the warranty although I had the product less than 60 days when this happened. The customer service people are friendly but don't really know anything about the product. They have to send out the repair tech for which one must set aside an entire day as the company can't guarantee a time but will call around 5pm the day before your appointment to give you a 3 hour appointment window. I could continue with expressing my displeasure with this product however I believe the reader has the point by now. If you need a new stove/oven, opt for something that is not a downdraft and purchase a better product from some other company.

A little disappointed

Submitted by Kim - I was so excited to get a second oven in my kitchen for my family of six. I find the Jenn-Air difficult to clean o the digital control panel. Every time I wipe it off, which is after every use, all kinds of bells, whistles and blowers seem to come on. The digital display keys are very sensitive. I get frustrated and just start pressing CANCEL to turn off things I did not want on.

Love our Jenn-Air dual fuel downdraft range

Submitted by Papa H. - We bought our Jenn Air range two months ago and are very happy with it. I would make two recommendations on the design. We usually use the smaller burners the most, thus it would be more convenient to have the smaller burners on the front and the larger burners on the back - at least for one set. Second the roll-out shelf is so great it would be super if both shelves were roll-out. We use the grill all the time for sandwiches, grilling seafood and vegetables etc. It cleans in a snap.
