I purchased the Smoke Grill 500 in June of this year and found the drum was missing the inserts to bolt on the legs. Manufacturing defect It was confirmed that the drum had to be replaced and a reference # was given to me to follow-up. We are in August now and I still havent received the replacement part. I understand that given the Covid situation there are delays. But ..... I do not believe that there is not one single open box with a drum somewhere in the plant or building that can be taken and shipped to me. Like the title mentions ... Disappointed. If keeping a customer satisfied is a goal Broil King is aiming for ..... I find that they have quite a ways to go.

Made in north America?

First off I will say I love my new grill. I researched for months to buy and American made product and I am still not sure if this is made in north America or not. Gasket fell off during first use I tucked back in and its fine. I think this grill has some design flaws. The handle is too close to the shelf I have closed the lid a couple times and have had the handle contact my plate of food. The warming rack is a little cheep it can easily knocked off its supports if your not careful. The tray that catches the ash is too narrow half the ashes miss it. My grill came with a bent grill grate and it looks like I will never get it replaced. Ok for the good it is a heavy duty grill works as it should. The adjustable feet are really nice and I like the large wheels. The vents are well designed and work great. Its a great grill and I use it almost every day. Wish I could solve the mystery of who made it but Im over it now. And for the bent grate I just place it on the edge where the food is unlikely to sit on it.

Very Happy with my Broil King Smoke 500

I wanted the option for smoking and grilling but didnt want something too big. I received the BBQ on Friday and by Monday I smoked a Chicken and a Roast. Then I grilled Steaks potatoes Corn on the Cob and a Pizza. I am still learning the grill but it has been very controllable for temperature. I find the temp changed slowly which I like and that makes it very easy to keep it in the range you want. The overall build quality was very good with a very thick metal body nice heavy grills and decent seals on the cover and the side door. Even an insulated lid is a touch. This is exactly what I was looking for and so far I have really enjoyed using it. The other nice surprise is the fit and quality of the cover Well worth it. Next purchase will be the rotisserie
